Here is a collection of images I have pieced together to form a mood board based on the idea of Art Deco, which originated in France just before world war 1. I Identifed that the coin collections I have date to within this period, and I feel as if this would be a good aesthetic to research and sample in the creation of an environment or a character in the media program. Similarly the colours and textures of the Art Deco period lend themselves well to digital art and can be replicated well with many shape tools.

Something that strikes me as interesting within this period of art is the use of bold golds in combinations with black or off blacks to really bring the golds out. Creating stunning visuals. Similarly the use of colours that complement each other and contrast creates very bold poster visuals. similarly the way figures are drawn within this period is also very interesting.

Elongated limbs and angular figures is very interesting graphically and is something I will keep in mind.

Smooth lines are virtually non existent in Art Deco unless they meet with a very harsh edge. Buildings have a very distinct architectural style to them. Often towering and angular. Box shapes.

Thing seem to just be tall in this design period.

Almost hostile.
