Georges Méliès :
Georges Méliès was a French illusionist and filmmaker, known as the Cinemagician. He produced the very surreal animation/ live action film "A trip to the moon" Where by he used stop motion techniques along with live action to create moon scenes and a rocket ship flying. He will be a good source of inspiration for our project as we may intend to have scenes where the characters fly.
Lottie Reinger:
German film director and pioneer of silhouette animation. She is best known for The Adventures of Prince Achmed, the oldest surviving feature-length animated film.
Lottie Reingerufen uses paper cut outs to create stop motion animation with figures as shadows. This is a technique that Lara wanted to implement into our stop motion as she was not a huge fan of claymation. However as a group wee decided that 3D claymation was the way we wanted to go with this project. As then we could really challenge ourselves with the 3D environments and figures.
