Designing the character 2

Our story idea changed again and so this time I was tasked to design an older version of the character. Working with his initial body design I looked at images of fishermen and old men in general.

Here I did a rough sketch up of how I wanted the face to look as that would be the most challenging thing to do in 3 dimensions, and it was.

Fimo was what I decided to use for the head as I figured the majority of it would not move for our first animation. However I decided to leave the eyes soft so that me and my team would be able to move the pupils. Allowing for the model to emote and show fear etc.

I would like to use a yellow coat as I feel that would make the main character stand out on screen. Similarly yellow could create sympathy for the character as it can stand for optimism enlightenment, remembrance, intellect and joy. Meaning the audience could route for him on his journey to get the worm back.
