Identify your progression route:

Ill be moving to higher education and continuing animation. I hope to do Animation at Demontfort university or computer animation at Bournemouth university. I want to progress towards computer animation that could be used in games or children's TV as i love working with softer designs and I love video games.

why did you choose it?

I love animation and wish to pursue it as a career. These are the universities that offer me the most opportunity for work and work experience, with Gold standard in the TEF and chances for education abroad if i chose it. Similarly both courses allow me a chance to pursue computer animation. Something i wish to do in the future as it is something i consider the future of animation. However Demontfort also allows me the opportunity to also pursue 2D animation as well if i so decide. Even allowing me to look into more stop motion if i so choose too.

Animation is a very large part of the media we consume so I wish to be a part of what is exposed to the public and create something new in the future.

What other options did you consider?

I also considered placements in Visual effects and games art courses. I decided i wanted to do animation more than both of these as it seem more broad and more employable. If i want to i can learn animation for games and learn a bit of programming or i can develop concept art for my animation which will also be employable for games art.

However I did really enjoy visual effects and the benefit of applying for Demontfort is that they said if you arrive and find you are not quite in the right section of the course you can move to any of the other departments easily as they are all connected and run by the same staff. Meaning I can always ask advice and such to try bits from the other courses if this progression doesn't work out as intended.

Examples of how I have presented my work and myself to others.

I have created an online presence in forms of academic websites and digital portfolios for universities. Consisting of showreels and such that display some of the best parts of my work. Similarly i have off academic work that i do for fun in the form of fan blogs that i try and present professionally to practise my illustration skills and make connections to others that are also pursuing animation at the same level i am.
